Hey, I'm all for debate on nuclear, I happen to think the climate battle at this time comes down to compromise and include all options (including nuclear) or almost certainly fail to contain global warming within target.
Also nuclear is certainly able to provide reliable baseload power and as an industry is extremely safe (yes I have worked on a uranium mine rehab and have survived 30 years since. My father unfortunately worked in under ground coal mining) Compared to other industries, you just need to look at the stats.
I also think that all forms of mining throughout the 50s to the 80s lacked sufficient safety and environmental controls, not uranium in particular.
My request is though, do you think we could have this discussion on its own thread ? It has little to do with SLX directly and I don't see much value in filling up other valued threads with debate that is not really on topic.
