Anyone think it is not just a matter of time ? There have already been major accidents in the US that have gone completely unreported -- one that happened in the 50's which is/was bigger /worse than 3 mile Island. Has anyone ever heard about it ??
But that is history, even though the effects will be around for a long time to come . The nuclear industry is much like the military-- there are laws and regulations which are either unheeded or amended if anything happens, so it is going to take more than just a few 'minor' accidents like Fukushima to put the brakes on it.
