    Rubbish. We have 22GW of Coal stations reaching end of life. They either need to be replaced or undergo massive refurbishments to keep operating.

    Dutton's solution is to build 6GW of super expensive nuclear plants for tens if not hundreds of billions of dollars. In a way that will take two decades at least.

    By the time it's done, it won't have matched the growth in Australia's energy consumption.

    Which means we have to pay to build the nukes, pay double on top of that to try to keep those old coal stations going, and by the time it's all done, we'll still have a problem.

    What an absolute waste of taxpayer money that could be better spent on something useful elsewhere. The opportunity cost of not using all that money on something useful for the country.

    It's one of the dumbest plans I've ever seen. I can't even call it a plan, because it has no details in it that make sense.
