''you can't turn off a nuclear power station for 12 hours a day!''
you can turn the gas right down then - if you need to
and many of the sites that the great Duddo has chosen - he's going to need to turn the gas down many times over the decades ---------- just as France has found out in the last years with several of it's inland nukes
when you get dry years - and the river levels drop 'alarmingly' and your cooling water volume not only is restricted but the intake water warms up alarmingly because of low levels
basically - the shit hits the fan - and you have to turn down the gas a LOT
even then - France has got cracking in the concrete towers which is proving to be a bugger to fix and keep several sites going
the big nukes on the English channel have no such issues --------- should have been a heads up for Duddo in a country with a very very very very long coastline and lots of water in the oceans ---------- oceans have a characteristic of that - lots of water
for the rest of Oz - there's a thing called drought ------ Duddo probably hasn't noticed that one
