Centrus at 'center of re-emerging nuke industry' as Lake Street starts at Buy

Centrus Energy (LEU +19.6%) skyrockets as Lake Street Capital launches coverage with a Buy rating and $16 price target, believing investors are "under-appreciating the improved financial performance likely over the next several years as well as the growth potential as next-generation reactors are deployed after 2028."
"Centrus Energy sits at the center of the re-emerging nuclear power industry with an improved margin structure, multi-year visibility on free cash flow, and a leading position to supply HALEU fuel to next-generation reactors" supported by a three-year, $115M Department of Energy cost-share contract, Lake Street's Rob Brown writes.
Brown eyes several potential catalysts, "including de-levering with strong cash flows, the potential to address the outstanding preferred shares, and progress on efforts to develop next-generation fuel supply and reactors."
Centrus announced earlier it is teaming with TerraPower to establish commercial-scale, domestic capabilities for HALEU production to fuel next-generation reactor designs.

Centrus, TerraPower team up for domestic advanced nuclear fuel production

Centrus Energy (LEU +13.2%) shoots higher after teaming with TerraPower to establish commercial-scale, domestic production capabilities for high-assay, low-enriched uranium to fuel many next-generation reactor designs including the recently announced Natrium Power Storage System designed by TerraPower and GE Hitachi.
Centrus is working under a $115M cost-shared contract with the U.S. Department of Energy to deploy 16 of its AC-100M centrifuges at its Piketon, Ohio, facility to demonstrate HALEU production; once the demonstration is complete in mid-2022, TerraPower would work with Centrus to expand the plant to meet the fuel requirements of the Natrium demonstration reactor.
Shares also could be helped by yesterday's news that the U.S. Department of Commerce reached an agreement with the Russian government to extend limits on uranium imports into the U.S. from Russia through 2040.
