What rubbish. Remove all subsidies and calls for subsidies and see how they all stack up. A fair bar for comparison is to compare the abilities to reliably supply power at 8 pm after two rainy days and the costs pertaining thereto. Let's get real. Zealots prefer to almost steal power from householder' rooftops at about 1/5th the real cost of production on good days and pretend to themselves that this is the "cost " of renewables. If someone really wants to see me fume, claim that fossil fuels are "taxpayer subsidised" (because stationary engines don't pay road tax.) I really understand how Alice felt Through the Looking Glass when I listen to this distorted nonsense. I quite understand that people might disagree with me of course, but for some to claim that "X" is true when clearly "Y" is true, beggars belief. One can get almost as much sense out of listening to the lying Chinese attempts to justify their land grabs.
