1. The average Australian is an utter imbecile. Polling a number of imbeciles on a highly nuanced hypothetical issue isn't exactly a recipe for great policy.
2. Sheeple don't really hold their own opinions, rather they regurgitate opinions that have been fed to them. MSM have already switched their stance on nuclear power from fearmongering to positive, which means that after allowing for a reprogramming lag, average Australians will soon be overwhelming supporters of nuclear power.
