I am not persuaded that we are receiving the facts on renewables even being "cheaper". I am not sure that all costs are taken into account. I have solar panels on three roofs and even when the sun shines and properties are empty I rarely have made $1 per day. on an $8000 investment not counting subsidies. The power companies take the power generated for a pittance and I do not get a fraction of my costs. I fear this is part of the "cheap renewables" claims. They certainly do not contribute towards others who must provide standby baseload power. At the domestic level at least batteries are even a worse investment, once again subsidies notwithstanding. Unlike some I have an open mind but have contempt for those who try to persuade with only half of the truth
