It is to be expected that the President of the Australian Nuclear Association would write in such glowing terms about nuclear power for Australia. It is also not surprising that she failed to mention either the dangers of uranium mining and the tailings left behind, the hazards associated with the short and long distance transportation of radioactive materials, or the security risks of an increased number and nature of targets from terrorism or war.
