The fundamental alarmist lie is using models to project forward world temperatures for 80 years; Models that on average have over estimated world temperature increase over the last 40 years by a factor of 2 or three, and then taking the high end of the models forecast temperature range (ie another factor of 2 in temperature increase) to declare catastrophic climate change.

Homogenised temperature series makes sure you cannot compare rural temperatures with temperatures in built up areas; and homogenised records not properly correcting for urban heat island effect. Non homogenised temperature series usually show a much more muted increase in rural temperatures compared to urban temperature increases.
