Since 2010 the cost of renewables has fallen drastically, while the cost of nuclear has risen. Even mass manufacture of smaller plants, which should reduce costs, leaves the price of SMRs unknown. The best that can be found is the Rolls Royce SMRs "predicted" to be between $2-3 billion. As hardly any nuclear plants have ever been built either on time or on budget, the final price and therefore efficiency is still largely guesswork.
