I really think you need to understand a bit about physics and engineering - that's rational thinking not emotion and scare mongering. Intermittent renewable are what the are "intermittent" - if you don't understand what the it it means that it''s weather dependent (the sun doesn't shine at night (and I don't think you are going to change that) and the wind doesn't blow all the time. Here in WA the power authority (western power) says that up to 4 times a year we get up to 3 days of "wind drought" - are you suggesting that we have 3 days worth of batteries which only last for 10 years? If so unlikely to be able to afford the electricity bills. Also windmills and solar panels do not have "inertia" which is the only way we can survive grid interruptions - if their is a lightning strike (or people turn on kettles in the intermission of the grand final) it will hit the grid and the 50c/s frequency will suffer - the whole network will fall over - that's just just electrical engineering - please consult someone who understands systemsynchronous condensers stability. The fact is that any grid needs "frequency stability" and that's provided by base load power with "inertia" (i.e turbines or ) - renewable alone CANNOT support a grid. The other issue is that about 45% of your electricity bill is "transmission" NOT generation. It's totally misleading to talk about "generation" cost alone - renewables are in remote locations - they exasperate "transmission" costs and use large land area. Germany & Austria are "poster boy" examples of over reliance on renewable and their electricity bill are through the roof and still have enormous emissions - in Germany they are removing wind farms to get to lignite coal seams (filthy stuff) under the wind farm - crazy stuff just to replace clean nuclear power - nuts.

Nuclear power is the safest means of generation - it doesn't produce emissions, cut up birds, cease operations at night or go on strike when its calm BE PRACTICAL
