This unbelievable reduction in the price of renewables is derived from what is know as "Moore's Law" which related to semiconductor and predicts that the number of transistors in an integrated circuit (IC) doubles about every two years - this has absolutely no relationship to renewables. In this context I recall many years ago the statement of the "law" by Bill Gates who compared this reduction to price movements of motor cars. The retort by the head of General Motors (at that time) was "if our cars crashed as often as Bill Gates computer then we could match these prices reductions" - maybe that also applies to renewables - it certainly will to the electricity grid .
