The ALP's long standing policy against nuclear power and the Lib's unwillingness to change the legislation when in government, suggests that their reading of the public's opinion of the issue is electorally a loser. As both use focus groups extensively it's unlikely things will change in this country. It's easy in opposition to use it as an issue to attack govt, but another to actually change legislation.
