i think it is Last Energy is an incredible company that is developing quietly and without much fanfare. Similar to another company I know!
It all started when Brett Cooglemass started the Titans of Nuclear podcast. It is a great podcast, I have listened to them all. They interviewed lots of nuclear experts including Helen Cook prior to Silex fame
Brett then took all the info he learnt from the podcast and setup his own SMR company using nothing innovative. Just tried and tested technology using off the shelf parts
He is actually bordering on micro-reactor size @ 20 MW electric
He has signed contracts in Europe (Poland amd Romania) for the supply of these units and it will be interesting to see how quickly this happens given favourable politics and regulation
His build price is $100m US for a 20 MW plant which is $5000 / kW plus installation. Very cheap when you consider it doesnt need batteries or other firming technolgies like wind and solar do
