Unfortunately our Mr Chris Bowen (and the Greens) are either deaf, daft or both and prefer to adopt the Gencost 2022-23 model of spending money on a gold plated grid, abundant batteries, Snowy 2.0 and windmills/solar like crazy until 2030 whilst underwriting any losses (by the private sector) and the public providing many more free batteries as Powerwalls/compliant EV's all plugged at the right time with the sole purpose of supporting the grid when the grid needs them (i.e not out driving or parked elsewhere) all for nothing into a locally enhance local grid for which no money has been allocated. In 2030 all this investment is then written off and magically a few extra windmills are quite cheap (i.e all the massively expensive supporting infrastructure has been written off or is a loss to you and me). Meanwhile electricity bill go through the roof. So as to avoid embarrassment in their reports AEMO changes the name of the " step change" Delphi group to "sustainable development" and surreptitiously scraps the Delphi group that supports the more logical policy of temporally firming the grid with gas fired power and changing to nuclear in the 2030's - they don't even cost it because "nuclear is illegal in Australia"

All said that in the 2017 election campaign Mr Bowen did provide us all with a bit of incisive advice "if you don't like our policies you needent vote for us"
