95% of the usable Uranium 235 is still left in UNF all it needs is top up, to bring it back to usable fuel and they are looking at 8% enrichment which will give it a longer useful life in the reactor , no wonder holtech want to provide an interim storage solution it makes sense rather than burying forever along with all the nasties.
All of the above is happening now in the USA, although they haven't been told just yet!
