    I agree, but much depends on location, geography and availability of resources required.
    For example Tasmania, which is already 100% renewable, fortunate to have high rainfall and abundant hydro power, is touted as the battery of Australia. However their solar resources aren't so flash. By contrast, where we live, in northern Australia, most homes have rooftop solar and and even with modest systems, enjoy between 0 -50% of our old power bills before installation.
    Despite being charged 2.5 x more for grid power than the excess we export. to it. The combined output for all rooftop generated in Queensland is greater than any other of the state's power plants. There are places far less fortunate than Australia. The AEMO's integrated service plan for Australia is well worth a read. Big nuclear power for Australia is too expensive, takes decades to build, SMR's are simply not available and at who knows what price if they ever do.Also, once again as the Zaporizhzhia NPP is currently demonstrating, the nuclear option is just too unsafe.
