Perhaps a license to enrich to 8% is no longer needed, perhaps they have found another way around it?
Centrus is enriching to 20%, but from what I see, at this point there are not many reactors that will require that amount of enrichment, but what if 20% HALEU is downblended with LEU at 4% , they would get around up to 4 times the amount of HALEU or LEU+ at around 8%
Most of the reactors coming from what I see require between 8% to 10% enriched Uranium which is still HALEU or what they call LEU+
Perhaps Centrus will have just enough HALEU until the PLEF and others start their own HALEU production themselves?
Just thinking outside the square.
