Yes, of course. But the source of radiation that can cause serious illness and death is difficult to establish. and prove. Start with Marie Currie. All personnel who served at Maralinga are now dead, most from cancer. So the British govt. have now conveniently accepted responsibility. With cancer rates rising worldwide the causes are difficult to establish, but it is well known that ionizing radiation is a contributor and dosage exposure is cumulative.
