Of course there is no common night for QlD, NSW, Victoria & SA and little correlation in wind patterns across the SE of Australia. Also greenies have got their statistics wrong in that a 30% capacity factor does NOT mean that if you have 3 times the capacity you get 90% overall. Even if you claim that wind patterns are completely random (they are in fact far worse than that and are highly correlated (as also is sunshine)) - no wind in SA often usually means no wind/sun in NSW & Victoria) - the weather fronts move through all three states usually quite quickly.
