"Australia would need to exceed the highest nuclear build rates ever achieved." - Hardly. France had a much more rapid build out of its nuclear fleet in the 70's and 80's. Only five large scale NPPs have reached construction stage this century in Nth America and Western Europe. Four have had substantial delays and cost overruns. Their price tags have been between double and six times initial estimates.
