    "The isotope is most easily produced from uranium-233 in weapons waste that has decayed for decades. A fraction of that material turns into thorium-229, which can be harvested for the actinium: - this is NOT UNF it's 233U which is derived from the neutron bombardment of 232Th, The process is:

    "Uranium-233 is produced by the neutron irradiation of thorium-232. When thorium-232 absorbs a neutron, it becomes thorium-233, which has a half-life of only 22 minutes. Thorium-233 decays into protactinium-233 through beta decay. Protactinium-233 has a half-life of 27 days and beta decays into uranium-233" - this is NOT UNF (which is derived from the fission of enriched uranium NOT Thorium). The 233U was used by the US to produce weapons (it's perfect weapons material) more detail on 233U can be found HERE

    My point is that its NOT UNF as derived from LEU fission.
