As you say it's a bit of a mystery over General Matters. I guess we will find out in time but "chemical"methods of uranium enrichment do not appear to be too hopeful. Likewise AVLIS (as appears to be the technology proposed by Quantum Leap - subsidiary of ASP Isotopes) does not appear to be particularly viable (particularly for the capex they propose - US$34m from memory) the history of AVLIS in the 1990's is outlined HERE - after spending US$1.8Bn in the 1990's was dumped and Silex adopted to fill the gap (this was then later dumped in 2002/3 by USEC for the American Centrifuge ACP (under pressure from Oak Ridge - ORNL who had a large (~600people) centrifuge department) - use of US technology for military application was a big issue for ACP then.
