Should read "No it creates less power when they are out of sync!
and
"If they are in sync they will create exactly the same voltage"

Demand and generation imbalance affects the grid frequency, it is a measure of the imbalance. All AC injection to the grid must be synchronised before tying in. Its just the way AC generation works. DC works by voltage level, AC works by phase, ie advanced phase pushes power onto the grid.
Home solar that is connected to the grid can result in an over-supply/frequency increase because no control mechanism was included in its conception, hence today grid authorities don’t want uncontrolled solar dumped onto the grid after many years of gov’t subsides to encourage people to invest in it. Net metering is also unfair, because the value of electricity varies throughout the day, fixed pricing is a fudge with a number of assumptions. Ultimately it has caused this situation because the assumptions have become invalid.
The only correction for oversupply is to add load or reduce supply power, there is no special “correction” that be done to the electricity.
There are many solutions that could be applied, primarily batteries so you absorb all your own solar rather than dump it on the grid when less people want it. Or you can have smart grid tech that measures the frequency and say heats your water storage or charges you battery in oversupply situations, you could be paid for this.
I don’t know what a BESS is.

Compared to the total energy in the Grid, any individual power station will be small, and it is the aggregate which matters. But yes . The Solar Farms produces DC current, and there is a requirement to turn this into AC at exactly the correct voltage , and then at exactly the correct frequency and then at the exact correct phase … if any of these are off by a smigin, there is an almighty Bang, and the inverter is smoke. . Fortunately getting a reference signal from the Grid is very easy.
