The "competitors" MG could have been referring to could be "Centrus", "Orano" & "Urenco" all centrifuge technology (possibly also "General Matters" who he implied did not want their name known - I assume this was BWXT). As I see it he implied that the others (presumable LIS Technologies & ASP Isotopes) were "start ups" who were well behind Silex in laser technology (IMHO ASP Isotopes are not even in the game with AVLIS for atomic weight above 100 - like uranium & 176Yb and high energy technologies like aerodynamic separation below for atomic weights below 100 - e.g 28Si et al)
