The elephant in the room is closing the fuel cycle, no one even talks about it.
all they talk about is mined Uranium, they may be in for a shock!
Terrapower will help, it has process heat at it's disposal, PyroChemical treatment helps with separation it was developed for PRISM and Silex were part of that back then, and the Natrium Reactor will help with that also, the Pu bundle comes from UNF which is part of the fuel it will need, another bundle coming from the Pyrochemical process is the Uranium Bundle, which has to be re-enriched from roughly to anything up to 20%, ie LEU, LEU+, and HALEU, ( this was what Silex was going to be used for that!
I believe this is why the US doesn't seem concerned, they would not have banned Russian fuel if they need it , they would not cut off their nose to spite their face and of course they Knew Russia would retaliate bu banning the fuel and enrichment, surely the US is not that stupid?
The US has an Ace up their sleeve IMHO.
