Good to see the Paducah Chamber of Commerce's 2025 initiatives with the support of the Kentucky state legislature.

I wonder who that $50 million could be slated for!

I particularly liked this bit "and following Friday's event, Wilson said $50 million may not be enough". All those high paid jobs and taxes for the next 30+ years deserve more than $50 million.

Bring on 2025 and show us the money.

Each year the chamber lays out its own legislative priorities.

This year there were five:

1. Support the creation of a $50 million Advanced Nuclear Energy Development Fund
2. Approve the creation of a Murray State University School of Veterinary Medicine
3. Support state funds for the Historic Columbia Theatre Preservation
4. Funding for transportation access at the Triple Rail Economic Development Site
5. Support for tax reform in Kentucky

Chamber President Sandra Wilson said the policy breakfasts are a way to make sure the community is engaged with the state and advocate for their community.

“We think it’s really important for our community and our business leaders to be able to hear from our local legislators as we prepare for the 2025 session — that way they can hear firsthand and also have the opportunity to visit with them,” Wilson said.

For the chamber, establishing a fund to attract nuclear energy production businesses to the state is among the top priorities, and following Friday's event, Wilson said $50 million may not be enough.

“That money can be used to help bring some potential nuclear companies here,” Wilson said.

“There’s a lot of different opportunities that can be done… there’s just a lot that could be located out at the [Department of Energy] site.”........
