Trudolf Castro and his loony left coalition have taken Canada from close to per capita parity with the US when they took office, to today when Canada's richest province (Ontario) is poorer per capita than the USA's poorest state (Mississippi), while having property prices/rental costs that are much higher than almost everywhere in the US.
So it's a pretty enticing carrot. Basically swap one bunch of useless leaders for a more distant group of useless leaders in exchange for becoming instantly much richer.
Canada's mess is very similar to what the big-government policies of Turnbull, Morrison and Albo have done here.
