Trade normal. Tariffs are a consumption tax on US citizens and businesses, that allows for potential reductions in other taxes. Trump isn't a very good liar, but he's repeatedly said tariffs are taxes on foreign companies. But if the "cost of living is too high", then tariffs can only make it worse and eventually this will filter through to the minds of the public. (However you are right in one regard. When wokism goes too far, it opens the door to Trumpism).
