It looks like that event notification from GLE to the NRC last October has been retracted after an investigation found that the "instrument relied apon for safety" didn't malfunction sfter all.
"During further investigation, it was determined that the operators stopped the evolution prior to the applicability of the item relied on for safety (IROFS) in question, and the IROFS was never called upon to take action. Based on this investigation Global Laser Enrichment is retracting the event notification." Reading between the lines, it seems that the operators took action just before the automated safety system was to have kicked in. I'm guessing this was back during commissioning when they were testing systems to find bugs. A non event in the end, but it maybe an insight into how delays can occur during testing. Perhaps "minor engineering issues" are just that sometimes.
