Prof Steven Wilson of Qld Univ has made a particular pitch on the instability of high renewables grids

It would appear from this paper that Australia likely has the wronf type of inverter (i.e grid following inverters) which are vulnerable to blackouts such as has been recently experienced in Spain and Portugal. I appears that what we need is Grid setting Inverters that do not follow the synchronous 50c/s set by rotating machinery (e.g. turbines) but grid setting inverters (which set their own 50c/s). I have outlined more in my post on the WDS site at the link below



I felt it was of interest since it shows that a lot on unanticipated changes (and costs) are required to even get close to the Labor 82% renewables policy by 2030 and that may even prove impossible in terms of the current inverters particularly for roof top solar installations in Australia.

One issue I saw was the Chris Bowen is now tipped to take up a United Nations role (see HERE) - maybe Albo has sussed him out as a liability and wants him moved on (I noted that he was somewhat hidden in the campaign) - IMHO goes to show how useless the UN is.
