The GLE team recently had the opportunity to visit the Pigman College of Engineering University of Kentucky - Paducah Campus, where we had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Charles Lu, PhD, PE. and Dr. Tricia Jordan to discuss GLE’s plans, our future workforce needs, and the University’s student body and degree programs. During the 2025 Kentucky Legislative session, lawmakers passed—and the Governor signed into law—funding for a grant program within the Kentucky Nuclear Energy Development Authority. We’re excited that the first grant from this program is headed to Paducah to support the establishment of a Laser and Photonics Technology Program. This is a critical skill set that we want to cultivate in Western Kentucky for GLE’s planned Paducah Laser Enrichment Facility. It was great to initiate the conversation and begin collaborative efforts.
