GLE’s VP for Government Relations and Communications, Nima Ashkeboussi, had the pleasure of attending the Nuclear Energy Institute's Nuclear Energy Policy Forum, where he joined Centrus Energy Corp. and Urenco Global on a panel to discuss the state of the fuel cycle, efforts underway to ensure a stable supply, and the policies needed to support the industry. While the discussion primarily centered on enrichment, it also underscored a critical challenge: conversion supply vulnerabilities. Enrichers require substantial quantities of natural uranium (UF6) to produce LEU or HALEU. GLE’s planned Paducah Laser Enrichment Facility offers an attractive path to addressing this issue. With our contractual access to DOE Office of Environmental Management high-assay depleted UF6 tails, we have a unique ability to provide a reliable solution for the industry’s conversion and enrichment needs.
