Thanks Zog, a very enlightening interview. Interesting that they didn't directly address the competition, it was really an advertisement for Centrus with a bit of flag waving. I can understand the Yanks are desperate for US companies to succeed in the nuclear industry and it was clear to me the interviewer was promoting that aspect and I don't blame them as they have ceded too much ground to rouge states such as Russia and China for the past 30 years.

But, the overriding instinct of the Yanks is to back the cheapest and most efficient technology and the best technology, that is what has made them a huge economic power house they are today, the strongest always wins. It seemed to me this was an excercise to bolster support for Centrus to beat all comers, they need the funding from DOE just like everyone else, which I think is still not fully committed.

IF GLE kick a goal over the next 6 months and can demonstrate that their sytem really is the lowest capital cost, lowest operating cost and the highest level of U235 extraction, the companies using the centrifuge system would be worried. We are not going to put them out of business, but we will put a lot of pressure on them. The DOE needs to back both technology systems because in the short term they will need enrichment from all domestic options and Centrus is ready to contribute. But long term as the demand grows and the competition with overseas producers intensifies the winner will be the cheapest and most efficient overall system including SMRs, large scale reactors and the fuel supplier. In business I always focus on buying the best plant and equipment and it has proven time and again the best path, an old Welsh labourer who worked for me once said " if you buy cheap you pay dear", so true.

A future buyout of GLE should not be ignored either this could be a card the yanks play that allows us better access to the fuel market of all US reactors. We could sell our share to an American company and live on a lovely royalty for many decades. An American takeover of GLE would mean a massive scale up of operations, something that may be beyond our financial and management capabilities. Who knows, I'm just speculating. Exciting times ahead.
