    The problems are:

    1. The Centrus engineers (my previous youtube video - HERE) the Centrus chief engineer indicates that General Matters are an "untried" technology - IMO it's likely that as an insider he will know mor than us. This could of course mean another type (untried) centrifuge but to me it indicated a different technology. If this is the case then laser (our and LIST's technology) or Chemical separation (tested and rejected by France (Chemex) was rejected in 2003 but is still being perused by Ubaryon (see HERE) but is in an early stage of development and probably not a serious competitor for 2030 implementation.

    2. People such a Scott Nolan are IMO likely to take an over optimistic view of development timescales but because they a well connected politically (Peter Thiel) and have large financial backing will be taken seriously by the US administration simply because of their "clout" - this does not address the real practical problems they are likely to encounter (i.e they simply want money thrown at their concept and a reality TV star may well fall for it). The fact is that Republican political influence does not trump physics; whatever Nolan says development (like an English Gentleman) "takes time".

    3. GLE has announced that our energy usage is 25kwhrs/SWU - that's going to be a difficult target to meet or beat (Centrifuge is about 50KWhr/SWU) . We are now at the beginning of our development path - we are likely to get more efficient. over time MG has said our Capex is about 50% of Centrifuge - I believe him.

Let's see what happens Nolan is certainly very coy about not disclosing General Matters technology whatever it is but I guess insiders (Centrus, DoE, Orano, Urenco, GLE, BWTX) must be aware of it and are not deterred.
