you miss the point, in extreme weather events having a true isolated base load solution is by far the best, nuclear! the blackouts in Texas are the the result of the failure of base load generation based on fossil fuels, and not the failure of renewable power sources. the picture of a wind turbine being de iced is in fact from 2016 and is at a testing ground in Sweden. techniques developed there have been used to eliminate icing from wind turbines. I think renewables have a long way to go but let's not believe every negative article.
