It would be difficult to find a topic further removed from power generation than abortion, so making those sort of analogies is pretty irrelevant.
Renewable power as an alternative to nuclear however, is both viable and challenging. It is precisely this quality that so many nuclear proponents refuse to accept and and appears to encourage their anger. Resorting to insult is invariably a sign that informed contributions cannot be provided. The growing public desire for economic, affordable, clean and safe power generation for the future should be the goal and currently renewables provide the solution with nuclear scrambling for second place.
