In 1994, Kerry led opposition to continued funding for theIntegral Fast Reactor, which resulting in the end of funding for the project.[181]However, in light of increasing concerns regarding climate change, in 2017 Kerry reversed his position on nuclear power, saying "Given this challenge we face today, and given the progress of fourth generation nuclear: go for it. No other alternative, zero emissions."[182]
