But Laser technology only targets the desired isotope U235 and GE are looking at ways to make sure that the assays are up to spec anyway!
I suspect that Wilmington initially will and could have been using perhaps mined material or tails to prove the commercial laser plant and they would have produced product from that, whose to say they haven't made HALEU already there to prove that they can be made on a commercial basis? is this what they are trying to sell as part of the IRA? and at the same time prove up the tech for use at Paducah and to get a loan guarantee in then same breath?

And re use of UNF is certainly coming!

One thing that amuses me is that if re-enriching UNF isn't coming soon, then why bother even mentioning it in a BAN on making recycled UNF into HALEU, centrifuge should be banned but not laser, as it enriches only U235 not so the nasties they are left behind!
