More than 600 electricity and gas suppliers are raising prices
The main reason for the price increase is increased demand. One megawatt hour currently costs 163.02 euros on disallowed. A year ago it was only 38.54 euros. That's an increase of 323 percent. This is largely due to the catch-up effects following the restrictions caused by the pandemic. But the costs are also increased by the Co2 emission certificates and lower generation capacities, for example due to the phase-out of hard coal.
