I am unsure of the source/author, however, the Bertrand Russell quote at the bottom is fitting.

Why? Well, the late, great British philosopher and polymath, Bertrand Russell, thought he knew at least part of the answer.

Not sure of the date but as he died in 1970, not much has changed for the better.
