We have had a research medical nuclear facility that as posted is the world leader in a specific medical product.Lucas heights is a 27 mgw nuclear power plant that as posted was re built in the last 5 years,no problems no issues etc and it just sits there very close to built up regions in nsw. As per article,what seems obvious to me is their suggestion to establish a submarine specific nuclear industry (and save $50b),result a superior nuclear attack submarine and it appears to me as the reactors would be imported we would have these nuclear subs off the shelve in 5 years and in the water We rebuilt a nuclear power plant in 5 years,i'm sure we can import reactors for subs and build 'real' attack class subs obviously with technical support from the french or US until we have a submarine specific nuclear industry established..
