    So you're not buying the PM's "forever partnership" statement? Seems to me we are simply accepting our role as a fully owned subsidiary of the US and abandoning any pretence of an independent foreign policy. Given that we have enthusiastically blasted China every time the US has stated it has concerns, we appear to have put ourselves in a position of having no options - just rolling over to have our tummy tickled. I'm certainly no fan of the CCP, but our "diplomacy" hasn't been very sophisticated of late. The only people benefiting from the current situation are US arms suppliers and Peter Dutton. I'm sure a few current Ministers will also secure some nice post-politics contracts as "advisers" to the companies involved.
