IMO the cancellation of the French deal is all about money
Corporations & Countries dont have sentiment, just treasuries.
i have no objection to Nuke powered Subs provided that:
-we own & control them (not the USA)
-we make tax provision to pay for them now heavily weighted
towards the chief financial beneficiaries of a secure Australia; namely
the multinationals who own about 70% of our big businesses &
the uber rich who virtually own the rest of the country.
Both can be taxed to pay for the Subs & pay down Sovereign debt IMO by:
(1) a 10% flat turnover tax on multinationals
(2) a 40% death duty/inheritance tax on the Rich like that of the USA, UK & Japan
(USA 40%, UK 40% & Japan 55%) If we are a first world country then we should tax like one..eh?
But will tax feature in the upcoming election.....you bet it wont following Labor's taxing misadventure in 2019!
