--Ask for your french nuclear sub to be converted to diesel
--Go through billions of dollars in the design and contract process (all under the advice of your defence specialists)
-- Then decide there's a better deal about years later
--Then go for nuclear subs - which you specifically didn't want in the first place
So, you spend billions - get nothing - then claim that you're brilliant by cancelling the contract and signing an agreement with someone else for what you never wanted in the first place - which will end up costing more
