Yes, plants in good condition are reliable. Unfortunatly for Aus, all are major power plants are near end of life. At this stage they are not reliable.
They are even less reliable given the private companies are wanting to maximise their profits. The best way to do that? Save on maintence costs. A double win! They save money by not spending it on maintenance and then rort the market when a unit fails. There is even a third possible win, call on guvnuts to pay them to "fix" their plants.
