North Korea is standing up to the US, Pakistan and India are at each others throats, Iraq is a wildcard and there are reportedly 20 "suitcase nukes" missing from Russia.

You can't eat gold or cash. i suggest people take a position in food such as rice, flour, pasta and canned vegetables etc.

Bottled water or sealed rainwater tanks can keep your thirst at bay. Energy sources such as petrol, diesel and kerosene will be needed to power some applications such as small stationary motors and lanterns and fuel efficient motor scooters.

Also don't forget candles and batteries etc. Firewood will be needed in colder parts of the country.

Quantities will depend on where you live and the size of your family.
