Which is why I am very disappointed the Libs have committed to this strategy without an entire package of the gas, renewable and withdrawal from coal position as part of the strategy. We cannot simply say let’s go nuclear as that takes years and we just don’t have the regulatory or specialised engineering, scientific or construction capacity let alone a position on waste. By making nuclear the way to go this has become totally politicised and in that situation there cannot be rational or reasoned debate. It becomes a tennis match rather than a bipartisan assessment over years.
I would be incredibly worried about govt trying to build it given history with major projects such as NBN a the insulation projects just to name 2.
Yes look into the future application for nuclear but it isn’t going to be our 2050 solution and I agree with the prior posters assessment of what’s happening in the US.
It’s really now in a quagmire.
So to ORG - finally moving and reaching heights the board never envisioned. Says a lot about our board. There needs to be a reshuffle in view of the last year and bring on some new blood with a better eye for investment and energy opportunities. Too many “yes” directors who simply serve on committees for compliance issues such as audit or remuneration and few with real industry expertise.
