Tallying up (thank you Excel) it suggests that for the 7,830,275 shares that they have sold short, they have pocketed ~$356,500.

This gives the shorters an average short sell price of ~4.6c per share.

If that figure is accurate, right now (SP = 4.6c) they are at break-even on the short. But to break even they would need to buy the 7.8m shares back at 4.6c. If they buy them lower, they profit. If they have to buy them higher than 4.6c, they lose

if the shorters have bought considerably more below their short sale price… they can probably let it run up a bit without much concern.

a little loss on short positions may be dwarfed by larger longs entered lower.
